Description

This is likely the most complex render I've done so far and the file turned  out to be incredibly heavy - probably due to the great amount of particles. The model is Olympia - I exported her from DAZ Studio into Blender. I still can see many flaws, but the more I paint elements in Photoshop in order to fix them, the more it looks like I ruin them - the hair, above all. Also, I had to remove the most evident noisy areas manually in Photoshop, although I chose to leave some noise dots in the hair and ice pieces on her arms, because they resemble sparkles lol Anyway, it took me 15 hours to render this piece, which is ridiculous because there was A LOT of noise left and I didn't manage to find effective settings to reduce it without sacrificing realism.

Looks impressive! :omfg: I have very little experience rendering in Cycles, but I noticed that using shiny and/or glassy and/or refractive materials tends to make the scene increasingly heavy to render. I haven't used the particle system so far, but I guess it could also contribute to making the scene heavier. The "sparkling" noise you refer to seems to be some annoying "fireflies": I've found this tutorial here [link] providing suggestions on how to get rid of the fireflies. Maybe it will be helpful. :)
